Hamza Academy is located in Valley Stream, New York – in the town of Hempstead. Valley Stream is a medium-sized town located in Nassau County, New York.  With a population of 37,935 people, Valley Stream is the 28th largest community in New York.

Valley Stream has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Valley Stream is a village of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Valley Stream who work in office and administrative support (15.65%), sales jobs (11.72%), and healthcare (9.70%).

Valley Stream is an extremely ethnically-diverse village. The people who call Valley Stream home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Valley Stream residents report their race to be White, followed by Black or African-American. Valley Stream also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 25.19% of the village’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Valley Stream include Italian, Irish, German, Haitian, and Jamaican.

In addition, Valley Stream has a lot of people living here who were born outside of the US (34.89%).

Hamza Academy along with Masjid Hamza Islamic Center of South Shore serving over 1500 families in Islamic activities, functions, and 5 daily prayers.

Hamza Academy was established in 2001 in a trailer with only 15 students and we have kept on growing since then. As an entity of Masjid Hamza, Hamza Academy is a nonprofit organization. Hamza Academy is a New York State Accredited Institution and compliant to all NYS curriculum and health requirements. We are always striving for excellence and are working towards several accreditation and national recognition through AdvancED and CISNA (Council of Islamic Schools in North America). Hamza Academy is an Islamic School with grades Pre-Kindergarten – 3rd. We serve both the Queens and Long Island community at an affordable rate. The student body is culturally diverse with a large population of Arabs, South Asians, Asians, African Americans, and students who identify as multiracial.

Our students are expected to gain both academic skills and Islamic principles so that they are able to make positive contributions to the global community. We also aim to develop in each student a balanced character enriched with knowledge, inspired to excellence, and committed to the betterment of self, family, and community.

Hamza Academy also focuses on academic subjects along with traditions and teachings of Islam. We have dedicated our efforts towards inspiring and preparing students to be life-long learners and realize the importance of striving for the best in this life and hereafter.
