Submit the application and a copy of birth certificate with $25 nonrefundable application fee. The full registration fees and all required documentation are due upon registration.
New registrants are required to take a placement test. After receiving your application, the office will contact you and will schedule a placement test for your child.
Buses are not provided by Hamza Academy directly. Bus service may be provided by a student’s home school district for children 5 years old and up (Kindergarten and up). To obtain transportation, parents must go to their home school district and request bus transportation to Hamza Academy. (Ex: If you live in Valley Stream, then you must go to the Valley Stream School District) If you need a school bus to pick up your child, contact your school district early to find out their requirements and avoid missing any deadlines.
Students in grades Pre-Kindergarten and up are required to wear a uniform. Boys must wear black shoes without laces, NAVY dress pants and Maroon or WHITE shirt.
Girls must wear black shoes without laces, NAVY pants, NAVY jumpers with MAROON or WHITE shirt and plain white hijabs. On PE days, students MUST wear sneakers.
Most books are provided for children 5 years old and up (Kindergarten and up) for free by school district and must be returned at the end of the school year. Hamza Academy registers all students with the Nassau BOCES, which is the local agency through which books are provided. Parents of students living outside of Nassau County must contact their local school districts to inquire about books and bring the required book list, which will be mailed to these students by Hamza Academy and is available at the main office. Books for Arabic, Al-Qur’an and Islamic Studies are provided by Hamza Academy for free
Service fees start for all incomplete/missing payments after the due date of the month regardless of the day of the week, holidays, child’s absence or suspension. The fees accumulate at the rate of $ 2 per day until the 15th. On the 16th, daily late fees are cancelled and replaced by the $300 re-registration fee.
At this time, Hamza Academy has no lunch program. Parents must send a healthy lunch and snack for their children every day.
Preschool children have nap time every day. Also, children from PreK and KG must have a change of clothes to be stored in their classroom. Parents must send a change of clothes packed in a zip-lock bag as well as a small blanket for nap times. These items must be collected by parents at the end of the school year. Uncollected items will be discarded.
School Supply Lists
A list of supplies will be provided upon registration to be purchased (such as pencils and notebooks). The lists are also available at Hamza Academy website.
The school calendar showing first and last day of school, closings and half days will be provided to each student. It is also available on our website as well as upon request at the main office.
